CAST IN LIGHT

This set of three dimensional tiles was created as a prototype for an installation inspired by Islamic geometric designs. The tiles include 4 unique geometric shapes that aggregate to create the overall pattern. Intended to be installed in a mosque, the three dimensionality of the tiles is informed by the soundwave of the "Adhaan", the call to prayer. As a light moves over the tiles, the shadows cast on the tiles visualize the sound of the adhaan, serving as a visual call to prayer leading towards the mosque.
